Friends of Reading Scouting

Looking for a Pack or Troop to join? You’ve found the right place!

Fall program and sign-ups start first weeks of September, and coincide with the start of school year!

Scouts can join at any grade level, K-12, any time, though most programs run September to June, aligned to the school year.

Each Scout Group (a Unit known as a “Pack” or a “Troop”) posts their own program calendar on separate website or Facebook page.

Programs are guided by Scouts BSA (National Org) frameworks but defined & delivered 100% by parents & youth who run each Pack or Troop.

YOU, yes you, make it happen, and it’s highly rewarding & fun.

Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts are Elementary Aged Scouts

Our town’s Cub Scout Programs (Packs) are organized by elementary school zone.

Participation in Reading Public Schools (RPS) is not a requirement to join. Reading Families that home school or go to another private school are always welcome. The units simply try to organize scout placement based on the RPS elementary school zones.
